BELONG.HOUSE
23
WIGHT
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional custodians of the lands and waterways in the area now known as Kensington, and pay respect to their Elders past and present, as well as to all First Nations’ communities who contribute to the life of the area.
Hi Kensington! We are in the process of creating a local microhub — a model of a flexible, welcoming space where community comes to life.
Located right in the heart of Kensington (on the intersection of Epsom, Macauley and Kensington Roads), we’re looking to create a place where people can connect, work, and thrive. Whether you’re looking for a quiet desk to power through your workday, a space to host a community event, or simply a friendly environment to meet your neighbors, belong.house is here to help you feel at home.
Who Is It For?
We’ve been actively exploring the needs of the community and will continue these efforts in the coming months to ensure that what we create truly aligns with community demand and becomes a meaningful, positive addition to Kensington.
Some of the potential audiences and services identified in our preliminary process are:
Affordable Co-Working Spaces for Remote Workers
One of the identified needs for the area is affordable and flexible co-working spaces for remote workers who value connection and productivity in a vibrant, community-focused environment.
A 'Third Space' to Hang Out for Local Residents
Third spaces are the unprogrammed spaces for the community to relax, connect, and feel at home in, that are not our homes or workplaces. This location next to a school and in a residential neighbourhood offers an opportunity for local families to hang out before and after school pick-up, for example.
Community and Youth Programs and Spaces
We are looking to partner with existing and emerging community organisations to support the growth of their programs that serve Kensington and its residents. Our vision includes offering flexible spaces that can host a variety of activities, from community events to youth initiatives.
Co-Housing for the Community Minded
As part of the belong.house vision, a connected co-housing space with five private rooms provides a unique opportunity for shared living, fostering connection and community adjacent to the co-working and community spaces.
